The craft beer industry isn’t just growing. It’s exploding. Craft beer now accounts for 24% of America’s $114 billion beer industry. Artisanal Brewing Ventures (ABV), a collective of Northeastern craft breweries backed by New York family office Ulysses Management, today announced it would acquire Virginia’s Bold Rock Hard Cider.

Senate Bill 290, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Regulatory Reform Bill that took effect in September, changes the rules for North Carolina distilleries. Businesses like Doc Porter’s can now sell beer, wine, and mixed drinks on-site; serve up to four quarter-ounce liquor samples per customer per day instead of one; and sell their products without a tour.

NASCAR and Dixie Vodka announced yesterday a multi-year official partnership, designating the American-made craft spirit brand as the “Official Vodka of NASCAR.” Central to the agreement, Dixie Vodka will sponsor the NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway next season, commemorating the track’s 25th anniversary.

The folks at Wicked Weed Brewing and volunteers from MANNA FoodBank worked this past Tuesday on the second batch of an oatmeal brown ale called 3 1/2 Meals.
